Cinojad

Cinojad (上官玉哲, Shangguan Yuzhe) is the house of Jaden, an independent Chinese perfumer, who founded it with his mother, May. Two generations pool their knowledge of Chinese culture to reinvent the literati aesthetic of “Chinese jade”, the stone of understated elegance. Under the motto “Scent · Sound · Vision”, the house brings the arts together and sets East and West in dialogue. Jaden works with natural raw materials of real character and even extracts some of his essences himself.

His collection “Silk Road Resonances” (丝路回响) follows the ancient road as a cultural thread, from migrations to encounters. Its first chapter, “Convergence of Five Ethnicities” (五族初汇篇), draws on the everyday wisdom of five peoples, from northwest to southeast China: from the Kazakh grasslands of Yanqi to the vineyards of Turpan, from the Mosuo’s Lugu Lake to the Dai rainforests, all the way to the scholars’ Jiangnan. Each fragrance brings an ancient cycle back to life: encounter, resonance, continuity.
