In the heart of the desert, near Turpan, the grapevine trellises breathe out a warm, sweet scent, blended with the warmth of cocoa and the low autumn sun. Ripe fruit traces the ochre silhouette of the Flaming Mountains; an untamed fervour that finally settles in the golden evening light.

The name

暮野苍霞 is read mù yě cāng xiá: 暮 (mù), evening; 野 (yě), the wild plain; 苍霞 (cāng xiá), the coloured clouds of sunset. In English: “Evening clouds over the plain”.
