Perfumery in all its styles

Tada Parfumeur: the house of Thai perfumer Tada Archawong

Flacon de Black Cavendish, Tada Parfumeur

Tada Parfumeur is the house of Tada Archawong, a self-taught perfumer based in Thailand. Officially launched in 2022, it has around fifty references, nearly all born from a specific memory, often a trip to Japan or a Thai flavor. You can recognize it by its ambery, woody bases and by unexpected figurative accords such as vinyl or printer's ink.

Tada Archawong, a perfumer who learned by doing

Tada Archawong did not attend a perfumery school. In an interview published in October 2024, he explains that friends helped him at the start, and that after that he mostly taught himself, by trial and error. Before Tada Parfumeur, he created a first brand, Natural Teller, which he launched after a year and a half of self-taught practice. Some compositions from that period now return to his catalog, reworked, under the label "Natural Teller collection".

In his own words, Tada Parfumeur was officially founded in mid-2022, after about a year of preparation. The first perfumes listed on Fragrantica date from 2021, which matches that launch period. He gave the house his own name so as not to lock it into a single concept. He also runs a niche perfume shop in Thailand.

His catalog reveals part of his background. In the description of When I Realised, he recalls spending a lot of time, when he was younger, making leather goods, to the point of losing sleep when orders poured in. Japan holds a special place: asked about his favorite destination, he answers Japan, where he has friends and has traveled through several regions.

The associated perfumers

Tada Archawong composes most of his perfumes himself. Fragrantica credits him alone for Black Cavendish, Radiant Memories, Night Tempo, Timber Suit, Rose & Thorns, Gyokuro and Vanilla Mystique. He also works with Prin Lomros, a Thai perfumer he is close to and with whom he counts among the pioneers of independent perfumery in Thailand. The two co-signed Akatsuki, Tasogare and Oborotsuki, as well as Latakia. A third name appears in the house catalog: Saruj Tangtaratorn, co-author of Hypnotised, a perfume built around a lemon and cream cheese tart.

For the Japanese trio, the method is known thanks to an interview published by Fragrantica in January 2026. The two perfumers started from their memories of Daigo-ji temple and the Arashiyama bamboo forest, which Tada photographs at five in the morning, with no one around and a little mist. Prin Lomros sent a first formula, then Tada modified it to fit the scene he had in mind. He writes down his inspirations in a notebook and then chooses the materials that can render what he saw.

A style built on images

The starting point of a Tada perfume is almost always a place or a moment. For Gyokuro, he says he drank this tea in a wooden teahouse in Fukuoka, with a garden of white flowers outside the window: matcha therefore had to be the central accord, surrounded by woods and white flowers. For Night Tempo, it is the lights of Shibuya seen from a car, with city pop on the radio. The bottle labels follow the same logic, with a detailed illustration of the scene.

As for materials, he names amber as his favorite and says he often uses sandalwood. From one perfume to the next, you find fairly dense ambery, woody or musky bases, which give good longevity to the most concentrated compositions. He also says the metallic note is the one he finds hardest to dose, which makes Night Tempo and The Print House, both of which contain it, all the more interesting.

Several projects required real reconstruction work. For the Emishiki Sensation series, made with the Emishiki sake brewery, he needed a believable sake accord when no base on the market came close. He says he developed it by tasting the sake again and again, and it is the work he is proudest of. For the Divine Comedy trilogy, begun in 2023, he used several Thai ouds he had on hand, including an oud from Trat in Purgatorio.

How the collection is organized

The house catalog mixes three concentrations, eau de parfum, parfum and extrait de parfum, most often in 50 ml. The concentration varies from one perfume to another without following a strict range: Black Cavendish, Latakia, Timber Suit and Rose & Thorns are extraits, Gyokuro and Oborotsuki are parfums, most of the others are eaux de parfum. To understand what these labels change on the skin, our article on the difference between extrait, eau de parfum and eau de toilette explains it.

Around this main line, the house has developed shorter series:

  • the Japanese trio composed with Prin Lomros in 2023 (Akatsuki, Tasogare, Oborotsuki), which the house catalog now lists as discontinued;
  • the Divine Comedy trilogy (Inferno, Purgatorio, Paradiso), in 30 ml, built on Thai ouds;
  • the Emishiki Sensation series, five variations on sake;
  • reissues of perfumes from the Natural Teller era, such as Period of Time or Since;
  • an exclusive collection of extraits in 30 ml, more expensive, such as Scarlet Dragon or Sanzu no Kawa.

The house also publishes discovery sets of ten 2 ml samples, in two versions for 2026.

Tada Parfumeur perfumes at Passion Parfum

The shop offers eighteen references, all in 50 ml and as 2 ml samples. The notes below are the ones on our product pages.

Tobacco, rum and vanilla

Black Cavendish is one of the house's two best sellers, according to Tada himself. Cavendish is a variety of tobacco, and the perfume is inspired by tobacco aged in rum barrels: rum, incense, nutmeg and caramel in the top, jasmine, patchouli and vanilla in the heart, tobacco, sandalwood, cinnamon, amber and oak wood in the base. It is an extrait de parfum, released in 2022.

Latakia, co-signed with Prin Lomros, pays tribute to the smoked tobacco of Latakia, in Syria. Honey and dried fruits open, lavender, black tea and resins form the heart, then tobacco, amber, tonka bean and labdanum. Drier and smokier than Black Cavendish.

Vanilla Mystique (2025) aims for a less sugary vanilla: rum, lavender and saffron, then vanilla, heliotrope and jasmine, over a base of musk, CO2 oak wood and cedar.

Woods, leather and urban materials

Timber Suit is an aromatic woody extrait built around pine: lemon, cardamom and spearmint, then pine, juniper berry and cypress, over ambroxan, suede and cedar.

Night Tempo (2022) captures a night in Tokyo: sugar, metallic notes, lime and vinyl in the top, suede, iris and rose in the heart, ambroxan, leather and oakmoss in the base. It is one of the most singular perfumes in the house.

The Print House recreates an analog print shop: coffee absolute, ink accord, carrot seed oil and saffron, then a paper accord, metallic note, incense and iris, over cashmeran, patchouli, musk, leather and oakmoss.

Japan

Gyokuro (2024) is named after a shade-grown Japanese green tea. Matcha accord, green notes and saffron, then ambrette seed, maté absolute and white flowers, over sandalwood, cedar, musk and guaiac wood.

Sugidama starts from the ball of cedar branches hung at the entrance of sake breweries, which Tada discovered in the Kansai region. Sugi oil, lavender, bergamot and saffron, then lily of the valley, a solar note, white flowers and cedar, over guaiac wood, musk, sandalwood and patchouli.

Iyokan comes from a citrus fruit given to him by a resident of Beppu, on the island of Kyushu. Iyokan oil, bergamot, pear and neroli, then yuzu, jasmine, lily of the valley and orange blossom, over cedar, amber, musk, vanilla, oakmoss and cinnamon.

Radiant Memories (2022), the other best seller Tada mentions, evokes late-afternoon light near Mount Fuji: apricot, dried fruits and orange, then iris, amber and jasmine, over praline, vanilla and musk.

The three perfumes co-signed with Prin Lomros remain in the catalog while bottles last. Akatsuki is a green eau de parfum inspired by the Arashiyama bamboo forest (bamboo, grapefruit, melon, tomato leaf, galbanum, lotus, green tea). Tasogare starts from Daigo-ji temple: plum, yuzu and lavender, hinoki, cypress and rose, then incense, benzoin, guaiac wood and oud. Oborotsuki, a parfum, is inspired by the Aokigahara forest, with a Thai oud, camphor, incense, jatamansi, rose otto and vetiver. Tasogare and Oborotsuki have been discontinued by the house.

Thailand and sweets

Itim Kati (2026) recreates the coconut ice cream sold by Thai street vendors: coconut cream accord, condensed milk and a nutty note, then jasmine, cotton candy, Siam benzoin, tonka bean absolute and palm sugar, over toasted coconut, vanilla, woods and sandalwood.

Lamoon takes its name from a Thai word for a delicate softness, more a sensation than a taste. Floral water, orange blossom, bergamot and pandan, then a tian op accord (the scented candle used to smoke Thai desserts), jasmine sambac and palm sugar, over sandalwood, ambrette, coconut cream and vanilla.

Lost in a Fluffy Nest (2025) tells the story of Fenni, a small character who takes refuge in its nest: grape, bergamot and cotton candy, geranium, jasmine, rose and aldehydes, then lily of the valley, musk and ambrette. Soft and close to the skin.

Moonlit Lullaby (2025) starts from a cocktail: chamomile, yuzu, apple, lime and green notes, then sugar, lavender and grapefruit zest, over heliotrope, a vodka accord and honey. A fresh, calm perfume.

The rose

Rose & Thorns (2021) is one of the very first perfumes from the house. Violet and sugar, then a lipstick accord, iris and rose, over leather, amber and musk. A powdery floral in extrait form.

Where to start with Tada Parfumeur

If you like warm, enveloping perfumes, start with Black Cavendish: it is the clearest summary of the house, with its tobacco, rum and amber. If you prefer green scents or tea, Gyokuro shows Tada's other side, airier, and stays very wearable every day. To see how far the house can go with figurative scents, Night Tempo or The Print House are the best examples.

The simplest approach is still to compare two or three perfumes on your skin over a day. Every reference is available as a 2 ml sample, shown on our samples page, and our guide to 2 ml samples explains how to test them.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tada Parfumeur a French brand?

No. Tada Parfumeur is a Thai house founded by the perfumer Tada Archawong. The word "Parfumeur" in the name does not signal a French origin. Fragrantica lists it under Thailand.

Who composes Tada Parfumeur perfumes?

Tada Archawong composes most of the perfumes himself. He co-signed Akatsuki, Tasogare, Oborotsuki and Latakia with the Thai perfumer Prin Lomros, and Hypnotised with Saruj Tangtaratorn.

Where can I buy Tada Parfumeur?

Passion Parfum is an official retailer of Tada Parfumeur in France. The 50 ml bottles and 2 ml samples ship from our own stock in France, to the United States and across Europe.

What is the link between Tada Parfumeur and Shaman Perfumery?

Both houses belong to Tada Archawong, who is also their perfumer. Shaman Perfumery is a shorter collection, each perfume centered on one material: ambergris, myrrh, vanilla, rose, jasmine.

Do Tada Parfumeur perfumes last well?

It depends on the concentration. Extraits like Black Cavendish, Latakia or Timber Suit last a long time, with dense ambery and woody bases. Lighter eaux de parfum, like Moonlit Lullaby or Lost in a Fluffy Nest, stay closer to the skin. Each product page shows the concentration and an estimate of longevity.
