Gyokuro de Tada Parfumeur, le thé vert mis en parfum

Gyokuro porte le nom d'un thé vert japonais cultivé à l'ombre avant la récolte. L'accord matcha ouvre vert et astringent, le safran le réchauffe, puis l'absolue de maté apporte le côté grillé d'une infusion trop longue. Santal, cèdre et gaïac referment sur un bois sec et lacté. C'est un parfum, la concentration la plus élevée de la maison, et il tient cinq à six heures.

Gyokuro s'adresse à qui aime les verts secs et les thés fumés. Dans la gamme Tada Parfumeur, il est plus végétal que Timber Suit et beaucoup moins sucré que Lost in a Fluffy Nest. Il se porte en journée, au printemps surtout, et reste discret sur la peau.

The spirit of the perfume

Gyokuro is the name of a Japanese green tea grown in the shade during the weeks before harvest. This deprivation of light gives it its density and its particular sweetness.

The perfumer recalls tasting green teas in several regions of Japan. What stayed with him was not a flavor but a sequence: the astringent green, then the toasted note, then the freshness returning.

The olfactory journey

Opening: matcha

The matcha accord opens green and rasping, with that astringency that prickles the tongue. Saffron warms it at once and keeps it from turning vegetal.

Heart: toasted maté

Maté absolute brings the roasted, almost nutty side found in tea steeped a little too long. Ambrette and white flowers round out the whole.

Base and sillage: the woods

Sandalwood, cedar and guaiac close on a dry, milky wood. Musk extends the sensation of a damp leaf.

Who is it for?

For those who love dry greens and smoky teas, and who want a discreet fragrance to wear during the day. Particularly at home in spring and mild weather.

Composed by Tada Archawong

Tada Archawong is a self-taught Thai perfumer. He first worked as a director of photography. He launched his first brand, Natural Teller, after a year and a half of learning on his own. Today he runs two houses for which he signs the formulas, Tada Parfumeur and Shaman Perfumery. Along with his friend Prin Lomros, he is one of Thailand's first independent perfumers.

He composes from images. On his travels, often to Japan, he notes his ideas in a notebook, then looks for the materials that can render the scene he has in mind. He devoted a series of perfumes to Dante's Divine Comedy, built around Thai ouds. He has also worked with the sake house Emishiki on a sake accord.
