About this creation
The roses of the Summer Palace, in their noblest form.
颐和 (Yihe) refers to the Summer Palace in Beijing, 颐和园 (Yihe Yuan), and to its roses climbing along the imperial galleries. Orange blossom and geranium in the opening, a sumptuous floral heart of rose, cistus and jasmine, a base of patchouli and vetiver. The garden rose in its noblest, most poised form.
Top (0-30 min): Orange blossom, Geranium. A fresh, green, luminous floral opening.
Heart (30 min-3 h): Rose, Cistus labdanum, Jasmine, Ylang-ylang. A generous rose heart, warmed by cistus.
Base (3-8 h): Vetiver, Patchouli. An earthy, refined base that extends the rose.

Composed by Alex Lee
Alex Lee is an American perfumer. He grew up in California, where he began pre-med studies, then came to Lyon to learn French. He trained at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, then at ISIPCA. He then joined Mane and became part of its creative team in Paris.
In 2013, he won The Scent of Esxence young perfumers' competition in Milan. He has composed for Penhaligon's, Salvatore Ferragamo, Chloé and Dolce & Gabbana. In November 2024, he joined IFF's Paris team. He says he enjoys working with orange blossom, patchouli, saffron and iris.
