About this creation
The cold sap of boreal forests.
北境冷杉 (beijing lengshan): the boreal forests of the far North, resinous and icy. Cardamom and saffron open onto a heart of conifers (fir, cedar, sandalwood) made green and alive by vetiver, before a woody, musky, ambery base. A scent of cold sap and bark, dark and enveloping.
Top (0-30 min): Pink pepper, Cardamom, Saffron. A spicy, dry, refined opening.
Heart (30 min-3 h): Fir, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Tea, Vetiver. A heart of conifers, made green and alive by vetiver.
Base (3-8 h): Guaiac wood, Cypriol, Musk, Cashmeran, Woody ambergris. A woody, musky base, resinous and ambery.

ChuJian (初柬) is a Chinese niche perfume house that reinterprets the landscapes, gardens and rituals of China through Extraits de Parfum signed by international noses.
Composed by Mathilde Bijaoui
Mathilde Bijaoui is a French perfumer, born in Paris and raised near Versailles, between her father's North African culture and her mother's French upbringing. She discovered perfumery at twelve, during a talk at the Osmothèque. After a science degree and a work-study placement in evaluation at IFF, she was hired by Mane as a junior perfumer, in Le Bar-sur-Loup.
After eighteen years in Paris, she joined Mane's creative team in New York in 2022. She has composed for Jo Malone, BDK Parfums, État Libre d'Orange and Narciso Rodriguez. She says she sees colors when she reads a formula, and associates textures with materials.
