About this creation
A watercolor iris in the mist of Jiangnan.
Jiangnan, 江南, the land of water south of the Yangtze, with its canals and milky mist. Here ChuJian paints a watercolor iris: aldehydes and green notes open onto a pure, powdery iris, resting on a silky musk. Minimalist, refined, with an almost abstract elegance.
Top (0-30 min): Aldehydes, Green notes. A cottony, green aldehydic veil.
Heart (30 min-3 h): Iris. Iris alone, pure, powdery, a cool root.
Base (3-8 h): Musk. A silky musk that prolongs the transparency.

ChuJian (初柬) is a Chinese niche perfume house that reinterprets the landscapes, gardens and rituals of China through Extraits de Parfum signed by international noses.
Composed by Caroline Dumur
Caroline Dumur is a French perfumer. She developed a keen sense of smell very early, and her parents, both publishers, led her to read the biographies of the great perfumers. A graduate of ISIPCA, she joined IFF in 2009. There she was trained in-house in raw materials, basic accords and the major structures of perfumery. Anne Flipo was her mentor.
She has composed for Chloé, Comme des Garçons, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon's and Bon Parfumeur. She says raw materials are her main source of inspiration, and that she imagines a story for each creation. To follow how a trial develops, she sprays it on her arms.
