Pernoire
Pernoire est une maison de parfumerie de niche suisse, fondée en 2020 par Robin Dünner et Nico Mannino, deux amis d'enfance. Nico Mannino dirige la stratégie et les ventes, Robin Dünner la marque et la création. Andreas Wilhelm, parfumeur suisse et partenaire de la maison depuis ses débuts, signe l'intégralité des compositions. Tout est développé et produit en Suisse. Les quatorze parfums sont des extraits bâtis sur des essences naturelles rares, concentrés à 25 % pour la collection Anima, du latin anima, l'âme, et à 30 % pour la collection Odus, contraction des mots latins odor et intensus. La maison annonce une tenue supérieure à douze heures et un sillage large. En 2023, Mansa a été finaliste des Art and Olfaction Awards, dans le top 10 de plus de mille soumissions jugées à l'aveugle. Hors de Suisse, la marque est distribuée par quelques parfumeries de niche, dont Osswald à Zurich et Les Senteurs à Londres.

Masar de Pernoire, élixir de confiance en soi
Masar est le plus lourd des Pernoire et celui qui laisse le plus de trace. Le yuzu donne une clarté brève, puis la cannelle et le girofle la referment sur le labdanum. Le miel, le tabac et la vanille installent un cœur ambré épais. Le fond assume ses notes animales, avec du cuir, du santal et de la fève tonka. Huit à dix heures sur peau, davantage sur le vêtement.
Masar signifie chemin en arabe et la libellule du flacon marque la métamorphose. Extrait de parfum à 25 %, 50 ml, composé par Andreas Wilhelm. La maison le réserve à l'automne et à l'hiver, pour le soir et les grandes occasions. Il voisine avec Intoxicated de Kilian, Tobacco Oud de Tom Ford et Black Afgano de Nasomatto.
Frequently asked questions
Dans la plupart des cas, oui. Son sillage et ses notes animales en font un parfum de soirée d'hiver. Une pulvérisation de trop devient vite envahissante en espace fermé.
Ce sont des matières qui évoquent la peau et le cuir plutôt que la fleur ou le fruit. Elles donnent au parfum sa chaleur et sa profondeur, et le séparent des ambrés tabac plus sages du marché.
Les deux sont chauds. Tierra est rond et lisible, construit sur trois matières. Masar est plus dense, plus fumé et beaucoup plus animal.

The spirit of the perfume
Masar means path in Arabic. The dragonfly on the bottle marks metamorphosis: confidence cannot be decreed, it comes from what you have been through. The house built the fragrance on this idea of accumulation.
It is the most ambery of the Anima fragrances and the one that leaves the strongest trail behind it. The animalic notes in the base are frank, which sets it apart from the more polished amber tobaccos on the market. It is nothing like an office fragrance.
The olfactory journey
Opening: spiced citrus
Yuzu gives a brief brightness, almost an accident in such a warm fragrance. Cinnamon and clove close it off in under a minute, and labdanum sets up the resin. The opening already announces the honey that follows.
Heart: honey and tobacco
Honey and tobacco form a thick amber heart, held together by vanilla. The tobacco leaf keeps its dry side and stops the honey from turning sticky. A rich heart, softened just enough to remain wearable for a whole day.
Base and sillage: leather and animalic depth
Rosewood and sandalwood open the base, tonka bean sweetens it slightly, and leather and animalic notes close it. The sillage is long, warm and present. Masar can be smelled from afar, so keep that in mind when deciding how much to apply.

The path, and what it leaves on the skin.
Who is it for?
For lovers of warm, animalic ambers who are used to leathery bases. Masar is the most extroverted of the Anima fragrances. If you are looking for a discreet amber, Otimo is far more restrained.
Wear in winter, in the evening. A single spray, on skin rather than on clothing, where the animalic notes cling for a very long time.
Composed by Andreas Wilhelm
Andreas Wilhelm is a perfumer based in Zurich. He wanted to become a goldsmith, but with no apprenticeships available, a guidance counselor steered him towards an apprenticeship as a chemistry lab technician at Givaudan in Dübendorf, in 1993. He then trained as a perfumer at Luzi from 1999. He opened his own studio in 2008 and has also been the in-house perfumer at Weleda.
In 2017, he launched his label PERFUME.SUCKS, which prints the full list of ingredients on every bottle. He says he starts by writing a formula on the computer, then adjusts it through trials. With his clients, he compares himself to the car, with the client at the wheel. He received an Art and Olfaction Award in 2023.
