For a first try, take the 2 ml. To discover several Aaron Terence Hughes perfumes or to carry one while travelling, the 10 ml perfume is the house's most useful size. The 30 ml covers one specific series in the range, sold only in that format. The 50 ml makes sense for a perfume you have already worn and plan to wear every day. Here are the details. Prices and sizes can change, and each perfume's product page is the reference.
The perfume sizes available at Passion Parfum
In our shop, Aaron Terence Hughes perfumes follow two patterns. Most extraits come in 2 ml, 10 ml and 50 ml. Another series, which brings together eaux de parfum and more recent extraits, exists only in 30 ml, with a 2 ml sample alongside. Two perfumes have also been offered in 100 ml. The history of the house and the logic of its range are covered in our article on Aaron Terence Hughes and his house ATH. Here, we start from the size and work towards the perfume.
The prices shown on our product pages in October 2026 break down as follows:
- 2 ml: from €6 to €19. Count €6 or €7 for the perfumes in the 30 ml series, €8 to €11 for most extraits, and up to €19 for the most expensive.
- 10 ml: from €27 to €90, with a large majority between €29 and €36.
- 30 ml: €50 or €70, depending on whether it is an eau de parfum or an extrait.
- 50 ml: from €125 to €340, most of them between €125 and €160.
A few elixirs sold only in 10 ml fall outside these ranges, at clearly higher prices.
What each size is for
The 2 ml, to try
The 2 ml holds the same juice as the full bottle, at the same concentration. It lets you wear a perfume for several days, on your own skin, before deciding. At ATH this matters all the more because the perfumes are powerful: most extraits are at 35%, and some also receive 5% oud. Start with a single spray. Our guide to making the most of a 2 ml sample explains the method. We prepare these samples from our own bottles, and the sizes offered for each house are listed on our samples page.
The 10 ml, to discover and to travel
The 10 ml holds five times as much as a sample. That is enough to wear a perfume for several weeks, keep it in a bag or take it on a trip without using up space. The exact number of wears depends on how you apply it and on the atomiser, and we prefer not to put a figure on it.
It is also the most common size in the range: almost every extrait offered in 50 ml also exists in 10 ml.
The 30 ml, for everyday use of a separate series
The 30 ml covers one series in the range that exists in no other large size. At €50, it includes Legend and Aura, described on their product pages as eaux de parfum at 25%. At €70, they are extraits at 35%, such as Odyssey+, Aura+, Whore Blue or Whore Red. The price gap follows the gap in concentration, which we explain in our article on extrait, eau de parfum and eau de toilette.
For these perfumes the choice is simple: you try the 2 ml when it is available, then move on to the 30 ml. It is a good size for everyday use, large enough to last without sitting half used for years.
The 50 ml, for the perfume you wear every day
The 50 ml is the size to choose when you already know the perfume and wear it often. It costs less per millilitre, but it means spending a larger sum. With an extrait at 35%, where one or two sprays are enough, it empties slowly. So it is better to have worn it for several days before buying it.
Price per millilitre, simply calculated
To compare two sizes, divide the price by the number of millilitres. On the same prices, that gives:
- 2 ml: from €3 to €9.50 per millilitre, and €4 to €5.50 for most extraits.
- 10 ml: from €2.70 to €9 per millilitre, and between €2.90 and €3.60 for the majority.
- 30 ml: €1.67 per millilitre at €50, €2.33 at €70.
- 50 ml: from €2.50 to €6.80 per millilitre, and between €2.50 and €3.20 for the majority.
On a given perfume, the gap between sizes is smaller than you might think. Water costs €8 for 2 ml, €32 for 10 ml and €135 for 50 ml, which works out at €4, €3.20 and then €2.70 per millilitre. The 50 ml holds five times as much as the 10 ml for about 4.2 times the price. On 10/6, the gap is even smaller: €35 for 10 ml and €160 for 50 ml, or €3.50 against €3.20 per millilitre.
The difference widens on the house's most expensive perfumes. Zeus / Daddy goes from €6.20 per millilitre in 10 ml, at €62, to €4.60 in 50 ml, at €230. Divine Oud goes from €9 per millilitre in 10 ml, at €90, to €6.80 in 50 ml, at €340.
The 30 ml at €50 remains the house's cheapest size per millilitre in our shop. Bear in mind that this calculation compares prices, not perfumes: the references in the 30 ml series are different compositions from the extraits sold in 50 ml.
The 10 ml perfume to discover several of the house's scents
For the price of a typical 50 ml, between €125 and €160, you can put together four or five 10 ml bottles of different perfumes. ATH perfumes head in directions far apart from one another, from aquatics to pastry gourmands. Several 10 ml bottles let you find out which direction suits you before committing to a large bottle. Here is an example selection from the perfumes offered in 10 ml.
- Water, ozonic aquatic: ozone, water and ice. Its product page lists it among summer and daytime perfumes.
- Blue Fever, aquatic citrus: lemon, bergamot and blood mandarin, then apple, sea salt and lavender, over cedar and amber. It is the house's cheapest 10 ml, at €27.
- 10/6, woody gourmand: wild mushroom at the top, then Victoria sponge, marzipan, macarons, pastry cream and white chocolate, over woods.
- Kayos, woody fruity citrus: citrus fruits, amber, blue raspberry and plum, then sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean.
- Noir, woody spicy oriental: black pepper, saffron and cardamom, a heart of tobacco, then vanilla, oud, incense and civet.
Wear them one at a time, over several days each. If one of them stands out after a few weeks, the 50 ml starts to make sense. If you want a firmer opinion on which references to favour, our ranking of Aaron Terence Hughes perfumes reviews them.
Perfumes that do not exist in every size
Not every perfume follows the 2, 10 and 50 ml pattern. Here are the cases to know before looking for a size that does not exist.
- The 30 ml series has neither a 10 ml nor a 50 ml. For Legend, Aura, Odyssey+ or Whore Blue, the choice is between the 2 ml and the 30 ml. For these references, the 2 ml sample is not always available.
- A few perfumes have a 2 ml and a 50 ml but no 10 ml, others a 10 ml and a 2 ml but no 50 ml.
- The elixirs are sold only in 10 ml, with no sample.
- The 100 ml remains rare: we have offered it for only two perfumes.
You also need to tell apart what exists from what is available. The house produces in small batches, and the same perfume may be in stock in 10 ml while its 50 ml is sold out, or the other way round. We cannot announce a restocking date. Each perfume's product page shows the sizes available at the time of your visit.
A few perfumes by size
Availability varies from one size to another and from one delivery to the next. The examples below show the sizes in which these perfumes are offered. Each perfume's product page displays the current status.
- In 2 ml: most of the house's perfumes, for example Red Fever, a fruity floral gourmand built around rose absolute, or Belle de Nuit.
- In 10 ml: 10/6, Zeus / Daddy, Water, Noir, Hombre, a Cosmos certified extrait, Maverick, Morpheus or Oud, which pairs a Thai oud and a Burmese oud with rose, date and raspberry.
- In 30 ml: Aura, Legend, Odyssey+, Whore Blue and Whore Red.
- In 50 ml: most of the extraits offered in 10 ml, such as Hombre, Onyx, Oud Noir, Red Fever or Noir Pour Femme.
Storing a large bottle
A 50 ml extrait empties slowly. It will therefore spend months, often longer, in a cupboard or on a shelf. Keep it away from light, in its box if you have kept it, away from radiators and out of the bathroom. As the bottle empties, air takes the place of the liquid and the juice oxidises a little faster.
Perfumes built on citrus are the most sensitive, such as Hombre or Blue Fever. For a fresh perfume you mostly wear in summer, a 10 ml or a 30 ml may be more sensible than a 50 ml that will wait for the following year. Orientals and oud perfumes generally age better. Everything is covered in our article on how to store your perfume.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 10 ml and the 50 ml at Aaron Terence Hughes?
The perfume is the same. Only the quantity and the price per millilitre change. Depending on the reference, the millilitre costs from a few percent to about a quarter less in 50 ml.
How long does a 10 ml bottle last?
Count on several weeks of daily use, longer if you wear it now and then. Because ATH extraits are highly concentrated, one or two sprays are enough, which makes the bottle last.
Why do some ATH perfumes exist only in 30 ml?
They belong to a series in the range offered in this single large size. We sell them in the sizes we receive from the house, with a 2 ml sample when one is available.
Is the 2 ml sample the same perfume as the bottle?
Yes. We prepare it from our own bottles, so it is the same juice, at the same concentration. Only the container changes.
Is it better to buy a 50 ml or several 10 ml bottles?
If you already know the perfume and wear it often, the 50 ml is more economical per millilitre. If you are discovering the house, several 10 ml bottles of different perfumes cost roughly the price of a 50 ml and save you from making a mistake on a large bottle.
All the house's perfumes and sizes are gathered on the Aaron Terence Hughes collection page, and the available samples on our samples page. To read the concentrations shown on the product pages more easily, see our article on the differences between extrait, eau de parfum and eau de toilette.
