Breaking the cocoon

The idea comes from David Tao's song “Butterfly”, and from a night under the starry sky of Shaxi: the desire to be alone, at peace, and at the same time to break out, to become a child of nature once more. If Talking To The Moon looks death in the face, Let Me Out speaks of the hope of rebirth.

The olfactory journey

The cocoon

Labdanum, a fermented wool accord and an orris absolute first build an inner cocoon, dense and enveloping.

The breach

Clove, shiso and turmeric leaf open a crack in the cocoon: a green, herbal freshness that is never sharp.

Taking flight

Bulgarian white rose makes the whole coherent and light. We find ourselves in the place of the newly hatched butterfly: it still struggles to spread its wings, but its antennae already sense the endless meadow, the sky and the earth.
