The quiet king

On a journey across the plains of the Serengeti, Tianle Feng saw a lion wake from its nap for the first time: a long yawn, jaws still stained red. The emotion was so strong that only a perfume could express it. Gentle King pays tribute to a strength that never needs to show itself — faced with the lion, man looks more like the wildebeest following the herd while believing himself a king.

The olfactory journey

Opening

The sun rises over the savannah horizon. Aldehydes dance with black pepper and Sichuan pepper, while blackcurrant bud adds a bright green note.

Heart

Dry, golden hay stretches across the plain, joined by hinoki and cypress. Violet leaf and orris soften the whole: gentleness and wildness intertwined.

Base

Incense, labdanum, leather and an animalic Indonesian oud lay down a regal foundation, warmed at length by tonka bean, amber and white musk.
