The house
Adi ale Van
Adi ale Van is a house of olfactory art founded in 2021 in Romania by the artist of the same name. Everything is handmade, in limited editions: the bottle, the stopper, the decoration and the box are painted and assembled one by one, so that no piece can ever be reproduced identically. The extraits range from 22% to 40% concentration and macerate for 4 to 30 months before bottling. The compositions are signed by Jimmy Bodin, Giovanni Festa, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Antonio Alessandria, Camille Chemardin, Michele Marin, Flavius Calaj and David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi. The inspiration comes from Romanian rural traditions, family memory and a folklore the house helps to preserve.

Muscel
Muscel is a historic region of the Romanian Carpathians. Michele Marin composes here with 60% natural materials and, unusually, publishes a single list of twenty materials with no pyramid, a way of announcing a fragrance that unfolds in one block rather than in three stages.
The olfactory journey
Opening: pepper and tobacco
Black pepper, cinnamon and fennel seeds open spicy and dry; tobacco is there from the outset, while lavender and magnolia lay only a light veil over it.
Heart: the smoke
Birch, smoky notes, frankincense and a leather accord establish the body of the fragrance: tarry, resinous, very mineral.
Base: the beast and the dust
Oud, civet, castoreum, ambrinol, patchouli, musk and labdanum close on an animalic, dusty base of great depth.

Every Adi ale Van bottle is shaped and hand-painted in Romania: colors, decoration and the finish of the stopper vary from one piece to the next.
