The house
Adi ale Van
Adi ale Van is a house of olfactory art founded in 2021 in Romania by the artist of the same name. Everything is handmade, in limited editions: the bottle, the stopper, the decoration and the box are painted and assembled one by one, so that no piece can ever be reproduced identically. The extraits range from 22% to 40% concentration and macerate for 4 to 30 months before bottling. The compositions are signed by Jimmy Bodin, Giovanni Festa, Anne-Sophie Behaghel, Antonio Alessandria, Camille Chemardin, Michele Marin, Flavius Calaj and David-Lev Jipa-Slivinschi. The inspiration comes from Romanian rural traditions, family memory and a folklore the house helps to preserve.

A spirit that smells of the earth
Mezcal is not tequila: it is smoky, earthy, raw. Jimmy Bodin draws from it a luminous aromatic that keeps all the smoke of roasted agave without ever turning into a sugary cocktail. It is one of the three references currently available from the house.
The olfactory journey
Opening: zest and mint
Italian grapefruit and Japanese peppermint burst open, very fresh, very crisp; ginger adds its bite.
Heart: roasted agave
Mezcal accord, agave syrup and brown sugar form a smoky, slightly syrupy heart, held upright by geranium and rosemary, which keep it from running.
Base: the green wood
Oakmoss, Haitian vetiver and hinoki give a dry, green, mineral base: the earth the spirit comes from.

Every Adi ale Van bottle is shaped and hand-painted in Romania: colors, decoration and the finish of the stopper vary from one piece to the next. Your bottle will not be exactly the one in the photo; it will be faithful to it, yet unique. Irregularities are not defects: they are the signature of artisanal work. Production begins once your order is placed.
