Jean-Claude Astier

Jean-Claude Astier is the principal nose of Parfums M. Micallef. There he formulates each of the brand's perfumes from the ideas of its founders, Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman, and also composes for the G. Nejman line. His work for Micallef includes Ylang in Gold and Royal Muska. Fragrantica also credits him with creations for Brocard and Jacomo.

He helped Ali Aljaberi found the house AJ Arabia in Abu Dhabi, which became Widian. The two men co-signed the five perfumes of the Black collection, released in 2014 and 2015, as well as the first perfumes of the Gold collection.

Ali Aljaberi

Ali Aljaberi is an Emirati perfume creator. In Abu Dhabi, he founded the house AJ Arabia, later renamed Widian. A chemical engineer by training, he built his approach to perfumery during his studies, first in Abu Dhabi and then in Paris, where he took courses at the Sorbonne. He launched the house with the help of perfumer Jean-Claude Astier.

Fragrantica credits him as co-author, with Jean-Claude Astier, of the five perfumes in the Black collection and the first two perfumes in the Gold collection. He seeks to bring together the olfactory tradition of the Middle East and French perfumery.
